Rhythm Section On Tour 2025

An inspiring encounter featuring the virtuosic Belgian-Japanese rhythm section of Tatsuya Nakatani and Peter Jacquemyn (bass), the legendary English, in Belgium residing, drummer Paul Lytton, and the innovative German reed player Georg Wissel.

Japanese percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani, now based in New Mexico, and Belgian bassist Peter Jacquemyn are once again hitting the road as a rhythm section dedicated to collaborating with fresh soloists and artists. They’ve previously joined forces with luminaries such as Fred Van Hove -check out the Hear Here Now release on Kraak, Johannes Bauer, Andre Goudbeek, Frank Gratkowski, or Mauro Pawlowski.

For Oorstof, Nakatani and Jacquemyn now form a quartet with masterful drummer/percussionist Paul Lytton – who, for this occasion, will showcase his rarely seen table percussion – and the innovative reed player Georg Wissel. Oorstof and De Studio are deeply honored to present these four influential players in this unique constellation, spanning multiple generations of free improvisers.
