What would your life look like if you could re-examine your sexuality in the public space?
PEEKABOO shapes a playful vision of the world as a sex playground. A utopia that imagines new ways of contact through cruising, ultimately getting lost in a web of experimental relationships and unexpected encounters. There is no revolution without a sexual revolution! Out of the bedroom, into the street!
The story of cruising (the search for fleeting sexual contacts in the open air) is a timeless tale about the control of bodies, space and time. Who is allowed to do what, where, when? Questions that drive the characters to experiment with themselves, each other and their surroundings to figure out their personal idea of pleasure.
In this interdisciplinary theater performance, theater maker Maxime Dreesen experiments with the relationship between the disciplines of drag, hypnosis, music, text and dance. A performance with an ASMR hypnotist as a guide through the story, campy musical songs and a trance ambient track as a natural sound carpet. On this journey you will meet numerous entities such as drag clown Couenne, mating bird Courtney, Oscar The Explorer and ghosts of the past and future. They drip and collide, seek and hide, sing and laugh in a scenography, by touche–touche, as alive and sexual as they are.
