MODESTY BLAISE is geïnspireerd op de gelijknamige comic, maar regisseur Joseph Losey wilde een “pop-art inspired spoof of the spy film craze” creëren. Weg van de serieuze toon van het bronmateriaal van comic creator Peter O’Donnell, werd MODESTY BLAISE een mix van kleurrijke camp, rookbommen en een boogschietende Monica Vitti (muze van Michelangelo Antonioni) in de meest speelse en uitzinnige outfits.

MODESTY BLAISE is inspired by the comic of the same name, but director Joseph Losey wanted to create a “pop-art inspired spoof of the spy film craze”. Stepping away from the serious tone of the source material of comic creator Peter O’Donnell, MODESTY BLAISE became a mix of colourful camp, smoke bombs and a bow and arrow wielding Monica Vitti (Michelangelo Antonioni’s muse) in the most fun and crazy outfits.
